New York Times (Sports) - July 25, 2013

I am working with my friend Sharon Green and the rest of the Ultimate Sailing Team as the official photographers of the 2013 Transpac Yacht Race from Long Beach, CA. to Honolulu, HI. There are three starts, 7/8, 7/11 & 7/13 and then we fly to Honolulu to photograph the finishes.

This is Dorade, a 52-foot ocean racing yacht built in 1929 that was a part of the first start of this year's race. www.transpacyc.com

I started photographing the 2013 America's Cup July 1st in San Francisco. The new 72 foot boats are like a F-1 race cars on the water. If you have a chance, go see them race around the SF bay - you can watch from the shore. The Louis Vuitton Cup is on now and the AC finals are in September. 

Below, Emirates Team New Zealand flies along on its foils in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. The can go twice as fast as the wind speed downwind on the foils.
