New Membership - American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP)

After completing an application process that includes recommendations from two current members and a portfolio review, I wanted to announce that I am now a proud member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). 

Since my work in commercial and editorial photography has increased over the last several years, it seemed important to me and relevant to my clients that I have a relationship with this preeminent professional association. 

ASMP is a tremendous resource for educating and informing photographers and our clients and helping us continue to hone our craft.  Things are changing at a tremendous pace and having access to the latest and greatest information helps me stay relevant.  In turn, I am better able to serve my clients.  As with any organization, by giving you get.  So…I will look for opportunities to continue to enhance my skills as well as network with others in the commercial/editorial genre.  Check them out at:  www.asmp.com

Doug joins Zuma Press - News, Sports and Entertainment

I am excited to announce that I have been asked to work along side some of the world's best photojournalists at Zuma Press www.zumapress.com. I will be doing assignments and contribute photographs covering news, sports and entertainment stories around the world.

Founded in 1993 and headquartered in San Clemente, California, Zuma Press is now the world's largest independent press agency and wire service.

We had another great meal last night with our dear friends the Sethneys at our favorite restaurant in Laguna Beach, Broadway by Amar Santana. www.broadwaybyamarsantana.com It was fun to find them using one of my photographs of their amazing food in the new promo cards.

What fun! I photographed 91 year old Betty White last night at a dinner she was having with the President and CEO of Guild Dogs for the Blind, Paul Lopez in Santa Monica. What a sweetheart and doesn’t she look great! www.guidedogs.com

AFI Conservatory Thesis Showcase 2013

It is always fun to be around all the creative filmmakers that are brought together for the American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory Thesis Showcase. This years event was again held at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood, California on March 14, 2013.

Congratulations to the filmmakers of the five jury-selected films that were shown that night.
