SPORTSDoug has photographed many different types and sizes of sporting events around the world as a freelance photographer producing extraordinary images that tell the story for editorial, PR and marketing usage. Since 1985, he has been a team photographer on numerous campaigns in the super-secret world of America’s Cup Yacht Racing and photographed many other sailing regattas, large and small all over the world. One of the highlights of his sailing photography career was working with Roy E. Disney on his 2007 documentary movie called "Morning Light" about a young group of sailors in the 2,500 mile Transpac Yacht Race from Long Beach to Honolulu. Doug has been a staff photographer at the Grand Prix of Long Beach since 1982 and has photograph many types motor races from F-1 to AMA Motorcycles at tracks around the world. He is now the photography coordinator for the Grand Prix of Long Beach and hires and manages 20 photographers that photograph the race for the marketing department each year. Because of that experience of photographing events for the marketing purposes, Doug was hired to photograph the WTT Tennis Matches and Toshiba Classic Sr. PGA for the Hoag Hospital marketing department from 2008 to 2011. Over the last few years Doug has photographed the Toshiba Classic for editorial purposes for Zuma Press and others. Doug's experience of working at small to world class events, his expertise as a people photographer, understanding of how to create an image for marketing and/or editorial usage, photojournalist editing skills, ability to build and lead a team, be a part of a team or, work on his own makes him valuable asset at capturing the story any sporting event, for any purpose locally, nationally or worldwide.
